A Maltese Love Story is a mix between a roadmovie and a documentaty about "Malta in summer" filmed in High defintion.

Introduction and aim:

Malta has a lot to offer:

• Lovely people

We want to pick the best of it and make a documentary that shows its viewers the wonderful islands of Malta in High Definition together with an authentic screenplay so as to create a unique experience for the viewers of this documentary.

Alexander Pfeiffer, who will be the main producer of this documentary (www.pfeiffer-medien.at) is a big Malta fan and has already visited the island 16 times. As head of the Austria Music Community Band:Union, he has made contact with Malta’s music community. Several bands like Beangrowers, Corkskrew, Bitterside, Ivan Filletti, Scream Daisy, and Wintermoods were featured on several Band:Union compilations. Some bands like Corkskrew, Beangrowers and Bitterside have also played live on stage in Austria, thanks to the Band:Union network.

The documentary:

The documentary will be like a road trip. Yvette is going to show Malta, Gozo and Comino to her Austrian friend Andreas. Together they shall be visiting museums and other places of interest, the coasts, the nightlife, as well as introducing some of Malta’s best bands.
Yvette shall explain to Andreas the development of Malta during the last years. In this discussion they will also talk about problems the Maltese people have to face.
The “road trip style” and the “dialogues” and the “insider tips” are what make this documentary different compared with classic “about Malta” movies and interesting for the viewers.

Timetable:

The documentary shall be shot during Summer 09. Should this be successful a second movie would possibly be shot during Winter 2010 during which another aspect of Malta shall be shown.

Florian Mayer, singer and keyborder from the viennese based band blended wrote two "concepts" of songs for the movie. "Another dawn" [song | lyrics] is a wonderful song about the beauty of Malta, but also speaking about the environmental problems Malta has to face. "Something between us" [song | lyrics] is about the first encounter of two young people in St. Julians.
